We would love to have you involved with Woodside Community Theatre, doing whatever you enjoy about theatre!  In a typical WCT production, there are over a hundred volunteers and staff who make the show possible.

Singers, Dancers and Actors.  Our cast members are typically amateurs from the mid-peninsula area, although we are happy to consider anyone who's able to get to our rehearsals and performances.  WCT takes pride in casting folks with a wide range of experiences in performing -- from nearly-professional to never-been-on-stage-before. 

For nearly-professionals:  WCT shows are musical-directed, choreographed and staged by first-rate, talented professional artists and teachers.  You'll get to work with some great people, learn from the best, and perform in a state-of-the-art proscenium theater to the accompaniment of an excellent, full-scale pit orchestra (in a real pit!).

For theater newbies:  it's part of our mission to offer that first performance opportunity to people who've never been on stage before, but want to give it a try.  What are you waiting for?  We'll teach you what you need to know, and by the time the curtain goes up on opening night, you won't be a newbie any longer -- you'll be just another well-prepared actor.

Auditions.  WCT holds auditions during August for shows in November.  Further information about auditions is in the member section of this website; take a minute to Join Us! and you'll see a link in the Member Menu.

Run Crew.  Our productions usually have a crew of about 20 technicians working backstage, in all the disciplines: Set, Lighting, Costumes, Make-up, Props, Sound.  We are always looking for people who know this stuff, and for people who would like to learn from those who do!

Set-up Crew.  Before the show hits the boards, we also have many folks working on the Set, Costumes, and Props to get them ready for the show.

Designers.  WCT is always looking for talented and energetic designers, of Scenery, Lighting, Costumes, Props, Makeup and Sound.  Depending on your experience, these positions may include a monetary stipend.

Production Staff.  In addition to all the activities taking place in the theater, WCT people are also busy during the weeks and months before the show doing production work:  publicity, rehearsal and schedule management, program composition, ushering, and so on.
